About me

I am a qualified teacher with over 18 years' experience of teaching students age 5 to adult including students with: SEMH, medical needs, brain injuries, dyslexia, autism (low and high functioning/ Asperger's), dyslexia, dyscalculia, PDA, social, ADD/ ADHD, emotional and mental health, non-verbal, language and communication delay, and Downs Syndrome. My subject specialisms are: Functional Skills; English and Maths; Humanities, Citizenship, Geography; Religious Studies and Philosophy; SATS, 7+, 11+. I also teach Personal, Social and Health Education, Life Skills, Adult Literacy and Numeracy. I hold a BA Theology and MA English degrees.

Teaching has taught me to be persistent, yet flexible to individual needs as results are not always gained immediately. Re-affirmation of equal opportunities and access to allow students to progress and achieve within the classroom and beyond. Something Sensational About Me

I am a self-taught artist. I have written over 100 poems and two novellas. I am a brilliant holiday planner and events co-ordinator. My latest adventure is to complete a series of 7 short books on the reasons for being alive for young people who are struggling with an uncertain future. I'm also a great believer of cats having nine lives! (Maybe that is because I don't own one!)
